Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. This is one of the most desirable of the five Ty Cobb cards in the 1912 T202 Hassan Triple Folders series, featuring him on both an end panel and center panel. The center panel has Cobb in his famous sliding pose, which is based on a photograph by legendary photographer Charles Conlon. T202 Triple Folders are one of the most condition-sensitive of all card issues, as well as one of card collecting's most popular and classic sets. Because of their unique design, with folding end-panels, they are particularly difficult to find in high grade and are often graded very harshly. The offered example has vibrant colors, slightly out-of-focus registration, and light corner wear. This example features a slightly uneven cut along the top edge (as made and noted for accuracy). Light creases near the lower left corner contribute to the assigned grade. This is a fantastic mid-grade example from arguably the most interesting and beautiful baseball tobacco issue ever produced. A worthy addition to a T202, Ty Cobb, or prewar-card collection.
