Addendum (11/24; 12:50 PM): Please note that this card is now encapsulated as Authentic by CGC.
Incredibly rare tobacco card featuring Chicho Gonzalez from the elusive 1910 Punch Cigarros Cuban-card issue. This set was issued in conjunction with a postseason visit to Cuba by the Detroit Tigers and Philadelphia A's. Also issued were cards of players from the Almendares B.B.C. and the Habana B.B.C. Encapsulated as Authentic by CGC, the card presents in pleasing but modest condition overall due to an irregular hand cut and paper residue on the reverse. Punch Cigarros cards were intended to be mounted in albums and are often found with back damage caused by removal from an album. The offered example is one of the very few "Script-Style" or "Handwritten" examples we've ever seen as many of the known Punch cards have block letter printing. This extremely pleasing example would make an outstanding addition to any Cuban-card collection.
