Offered is a partial set of 31 different cards from the 1948 Bowman series (out of 48 in the set), the first baseball-card set issued by Bowman Gum. This collection is highlighted by key rookie cards of several stars and Hall of Famers, including Yogi Berra, Warren Spahn, and Stan Musial. Included are six duplicates (#1 Elliott RC, 5 Feller, 10, 32, 34, and 42). Condition is one Nr/Mt, four Ex, three Vg-Ex, eight Vg, one Gd, two Pr to Fr, three altered, and fifteen trimmed. Keys: Two #1 Elliott RC (Gd and trimmed, otherwise Vg), two 5 Feller (Ex due to centering and altered, otherwise Fr), 6 Berra RC (trimmed and color added, otherwise Gd), 8 Rizzuto RC (trimmed, otherwise Vg), 17 Slaughter RC (trimmed, otherwise Ex), 18 Spahn RC (erased left and bottom borders, otherwise Fr due to paper loss on bottom border), 19 Henrich (Pr-Fr), 36 Musial RC (trimmed, otherwise Vg), and 40 Marion RC (trimmed, otherwise Ex-Mt). Missing the following 17 cards for completion: #2 Blackwell, 3 Kiner, 4 Mize, 7 Reiser, 12 Sain, 14 Reynolds, 22, 26, 29 Page, 30 Lockman, 33, 35, 38 Schoendienst, 43, 44, 45 Sauer, and 47 Thomson. An outstanding opportunity to acquire a very presentable mixed-grade collection of this landmark Bowman issue. Total: 37 cards (partial set of 31 plus 6 duplicates).
