The rookie cards of Hall of Famers George Brett, Robin Yount, Gary Carter, and Jim Rice highlight the 1975 Topps issue, one of the most popular and unusual sets of the 1970s. The colored flush-to-the-border design of the 1975 Topps set makes this issue particularly challenging to collect in extremely high grade. Condition is 78% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt (including some Mint) and 22% Ex to Ex-Mt (including a couple lesser). Twenty-four cards have been professionally graded and encapsulated by SGC. SGC Grading Composite: MINT 96 (5 cards): #50 B. Robinson, 185 Carlton, 320 Rose, 540 Brock and 620 Carter RC. NM/MT+ 92 (10 cards): #7, 20 Munson, 100 Stargell, 180 Morgan, 223 Yount RC, 228 Brett RC, 260 Bench, 307 HR Ldrs, 370 Seaver, and 616 Rice RC. NM/MT 88 (9 cards): #1 Aaron HL, 2 Brock HL, 5 Ryan HL, 61 Winfield, 70 Schmidt, 300 Jackson, 312 Strikeout Ldrs, 500 Ryan, and 622 Lynn RC. Unencapsulated Keys: #623 Hernandez RC (Nr/Mt) and 660 Aaron (25/75 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt). This is an extremely attractive high-grade complete set loaded with Hall of Famers and stars from the 1970s. The equivalent SMR value for just the 24 SGC-graded cards (factoring in the 10 NM/MT+ half grades at the lower whole-grade level) is $4,930. Total: 660 cards. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
