Lot # 442: 1911 T3 Turkey Red #42 Cy Young PSA GOOD 2

Graded GOOD 2 by PSA (submitted by REA). Modestly graded example of Cleveland Naps Hall of Famer Cy Young from the classic T3 Turkey Red cabinet-card series. Turkey Reds are one of the most highly prized of all tobacco issues. They were available only by mail in exchange for coupons packaged with Turkey Red Cigarettes. Because of their large size, they are easily damaged and particularly difficult to find in high grade. The offered example displays bright colors, excellent registration, honest corner wear, and light creasing along the lower-left border. The checklist (with offer) advertising reverse is boldly printed and lightly soiled. Upon close examination, there are two tiny chips of paper loss along the green background. This card would make an important addition to a high-quality Turkey Red set.
