Official National League baseball (Giles) signed in blue ink by the following twenty-six members of the 1963 San Francisco Giants: Mays, McCovey, Cepeda (sweet spot), Marichal, Perry, Larsen, Pagan, Bowman, Duffalo, O’Dell, Kuenn (deceased in 1988 at the young age of 57), Davenport, Peterson (deceased in 1980 at the young age 37), Fisher (1963 was his only season in SF), Bailey, Sanford, Pierce, Bolin, Hoeft, Hiller, Haller, M. Alou, Amalfitano, F. Alou, and Stanek (1963 was his only season in SF). According to JSA the signature of Al Dark along sweet spot is a stamp (a common practice on Giants team balls). The 1963 Giants finished 88–74, placing third in the National League under manager Alvin Dark. Willie Mays delivered another elite season with 38 home runs and 103 RBI, while Willie McCovey added big power with 44 homers. Juan Marichal led the pitching staff with a 25–8 record and a 2.41 ERA, emerging as one of baseball’s dominant aces. Despite strong individual performances and one of the league’s most dangerous lineups, San Francisco couldn’t catch the Dodgers and Cardinals in a tightly contested pennant race. The ball remains in Near Mint condition overall. This is an outstanding San Francisco Giants team signed ball. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA.
