Outstanding mid- to high-grade 233-card complete set of 1971-1972 Topps basketball cards. The 1971-1972 Topps set is very popular among collectors for its bright colors and funky text, both telltale signs of an early 1970s issue. The set is loaded with stars and Hall of Famers, including Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, Pete Maravich, Oscar Robertson, and rookie cards of Rick Barry, Dave Cowens, Bob Lanier, Nate Archibald, and Dan Issel. This was also the first year that Topps included cards of ABA (American Basketball Association) players. Condition is 19% Nr/Mt (including some Nr/Mt-Mt), 57% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 24% Vg to Vg-Ex (including a couple lesser). We have selected four cards for grading and encapsulation by SGC. Keys: #1 Robertson (Ex), 2 Bradley (Vg-Ex+), 10 Baylor (Ex-Mt), 20 Haywood RC (Vg-Ex), 29 Archibald RC (25/75 L/R, otherwise Ex-Mt), 35 Havlicek (NM+ 7.5), 47 Cowens RC (Ex-Mt), 50 West (Vg), 55 Maravich (Vg-Ex+), 63 Lanier RC (Nr/Mt), 65 Frazier (Vg-Ex), 70 Chamberlain (EX/NM+ 6.5), 91 Tomjanovich RC (Ex), 100 Alcindor (Vg-Ex+), 120 Hayes (Ex-Mt), 138 NBA Scoring Ldrs (Ex+), 152 L. Brown RC (Nr/Mt), 170 Barry RC (EX/NM 6), 195 Daniels RC (NM/MT 8), 200 Issel RC (Ex+), 224 Dampier RC (Vg-Ex), and 225 R. Brown RC (Ex+). An extremely attractive complete set of this popular 1970s Topps basketball issue, loaded with stars and Hall of Famers. Total: 232 cards.
