Graded EX 60 by SGC. One of only four examples graded at this level by SGC, with just one graded higher (EX+ 70). High-grade example of Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Famer Honus Wagner from this extremely popular candy-card issue. The E90-1 American Caramel set has two different poses of Honus Wagner (batting and throwing). Caramel cards in general are rarely found in high grade. The offered card has vibrant colors, a crisp image of Wagner, light corner wear (weaker lower right), and a natural diamond cut along the bottom edge. It should be noted for accuracy that there is a slight paper separation on the upper-right corner of the reverse. This classic 1910-era Honus Wagner card is in extraordinary condition, especially for a caramel card. These were issued with candy, one card per package, and tend to survive in lesser condition than their more common tobacco-card counterparts. This is a tremendous high-grade example of the rarer throwing pose of the legendary Honus Wagner from the premier “E” card issue.
