1939 R303-B Goudey Premium of Mel Ott, signed by Ott on the front. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the piece and graded the signature GEM MINT 10. Ott has scripted the premium in black fountain pen across his image. The inscription "Giants 1939" is penned below. Issued in 1939 by Goudey Gum and catalogued R303-B in the American Card Catalog, this large-format premium set is printed on thin stock and was issued both in black and white and sepia-toned. Ott is one of 14 Hall of Famers featured in the 24-card set, and signed examples are rare. This is just the second signed example of this attractive Ott premium we have ever offered. The premium, which displays creasing and is trimmed along the top edge, features a "May 1 1944" date stamp next to the inscription. Please note that, despite being labeled as a "photo" by PSA/DNA, this is a 1939 R303-B Goudey Premium. It is labeled as such because the card is glued onto a backing. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA.
