Lot # 2639: 1972 Comspec Basketball Pete Maravich PSA EX 5 (MBA Gold Diamond)

Graded EX 5 by PSA. Rarely offered example of Atlanta Hawks Hall of Famer Pete Maravich from the 1972-1973 Comspec basketball set. Produced for only one year by a California-based company, this is one of the rarest basketball issues in all of card-collecting. The cards (2-1/4 x 3-1/2 inches) feature color photos, with the player's name, team, and position printed below the image. The respective player's statistics are printed on the reverse. It is interesting to note the images used to produce this set are the same used to produce Topps' 1972-1973 basketball card series. The offered card displays brilliant colors, outstanding registration, and light corner wear. Clean reverse. Awarded an MBA Gold Diamond by Mike Baker Authenticated for high-end eye appeal. A corresponding MBA sticker is affixed to the front of the holder.
