Presented is a near-complete set of 1954 Topps baseball consisting of 249 different cards (out of 250 in the set), missing only #128 Hank Aaron for completion. The 1954 Topps set has always been one of the most popular sets of the 1950s. This near set features the rookie cards of Ernie Banks, Al Kaline, and Tommy Lasorda, along with many other Hall of Famers and stars, including two examples of Ted Williams (first and last cards in the set), all in brilliant color. Condition is 23% Ex to Ex-Mt (approximately two-thirds Ex), 68% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 9% lesser (mostly Gd). We have selected four cards for grading and encapsulation at SGC. Keys: #1 Williams (Gd), 3 Irvin (Vg), 10 Robinson (VG+ 3.5), 13 Martin (Vg-Ex), 17 Rizzuto (Gd), 20 Spahn (Vg-Ex+), 30 Mathews (Vg-Ex), 32 Snider (10/90 L/R, otherwise Vg-Ex), 36 Wilhelm (Vg-Ex), 37 Ford (Vg-Ex), 45 Ashburn (Vg-Ex), 50 Berra (Vg), 70 Doby (0/100 L/R, otherwise Vg-Ex), 90 Mays (EX 5), 94 Banks RC (0/100 T/B, otherwise Ex), 102 Hodges (Vg+), 132 Lasorda RC (Vg-Ex+), 201 Kaline RC (SGC Authentic), 239 Skowron RC (Vg), and 250 Williams (EX 5). Vintage sets such as this, that are in mostly mid-grade condition, are especially desirable, representing an exceptional collecting value. This is a very attractive set of this classic early Topps issue, loaded with Hall of Famers and stars from the 1950s. Total: 249 cards.
