Description

Very attractive near-complete set of 1954 Red Heart Dog Food consisting of thirty different cards (out of thirty-three in the set). Missing only Kluszewski, Mantle, and Musial for completion. Though composed of only thirty cards, the near-set features many of the greatest stars of the early 1950s, including Snider, Ashburn, Spahn, Kiner, and Fox. Condition is 20% Vg, 20% Gd, and 60% Pr to Fr. Keys: Ashburn (Pr, with uneven edges due to heavy wear), Erskine SP (Fr), Fox (Pr-Fr), Kell (Pr), Kiner (Pr-Fr), Lemon (Pr), Martin (Pr), McDougald SP (Pr), Minoso (Pr, with uneven edges due to heavy wear), Schoendienst SP (Gd), Slaughter (Vg+), Snider (Gd), and Spahn (Fr). Red Hearts have always been a favorite with collectors. Many consider Red Hearts to be one of the most attractive sets ever issued. The distinctive artwork and the unusual product with which they were issued both contribute to making Red Hearts one of the 1950s most noteworthy sets. This is a very presentable lower-grade near-complete set of this distinctive and extremely popular 1950s issue. Total: 30 cards.
