Presented is an outstanding Callahan Hall of Fame partial set (62 out of 82), plus the original box. Issued annually from 1950 to 1956, the Callahan Hall of Fame card set was the official set of the Hall of Fame. It was updated each year until 1956 with the inductees from that year as well as some corrections and updates. The end result is an 82-card basic set and a 91-card master set (including nine cards with two variations). The cards released in the later years of the set are very rare. This offering is missing the following twenty cards for completion of a basic set: Baker, Barrow, Bender, Chandler, Connolly, Dean, Dickey, DiMaggio, Hartnett, W. Johnson, Klem, Lyons, Maranville, Schalk, Simmons, Terry, Vance, Wallace, H. Wright, and Museum Interior.Condition is 39% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt+, 50% Ex to Ex-Mt and 11% Vg to Vg-Ex (including one that measures small). Keys: Cobb (Ex+), Gehrig (Nr/Mt), Mathewson (Ex-Mt+), Ruth (Nr/Mt), and Wagner (Ex). The original box accompanying the set grades Good due to creases and a partial tear in the center tab.
