Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. One of only two examples graded at this level by PSA with just three higher. Spectacular high-grade example of Detroit Tigers Hall of Famer Ty Cobb in a batting pose from the classic E90-1 American Caramel series. This caramel card is widely recognized by collectors as one of Cobb’s most striking cards but is rarely found this nice. (The numbers speak for themselves: According to the PSA Population Report, only one other PSA EX-MT 6 and three other examples have ever been graded higher. This is out of 230 Ty Cobb examples graded to date!) This is a stunning card! The offered example displays vibrant colors, excellent registration, and light corner wear (weaker bottom right). Boldly printed reverse. This card is in magnificent condition for any 1910-era card, let alone for a caramel card. Because they were issued with candy, one card per package, caramel cards tend to survive in lesser condition than their more common tobacco-card counterparts. This is an exceptional high-grade example of the key Hall of Famer from the most popular caramel-card set of the era.
