Presented is a partial set consisting of thirty-eight different cards (out of 49 in the set) from the 1948-1949 Leaf Gum “standard” set (the remaining forty-nine cards in the set are from the rare "short print" series, which are so rare that "Rare Leafs" has long been a formal card-collecting hobby term). This collection is highlighted by Joe Gordon, Ted Kluszewski (rookie), Johnny Mize, and Phil Rizzuto. Condition is 21% Gd to Vg (including a couple better) and 79% Pr to Fr. Keys: #11 Rizzuto (borders trimmed off, otherwise Fr), 38 Kluszewski RC (Pr), 46 Mize (small mark on reverse, otherwise Fr), 97 Marion (Pr), 102b Hermanski/correct (Pr), 117 Gordon (Pr), and 136a Aberson/full sleeve (Fr). Missing the following eleven cards for completion: #1 DiMaggio, 3 Ruth, 4 Musial, 32 Spahn, 59 Appling, 70 Wagner, 76 Williams, 79 Robinson, 83 Doerr, 91 Kiner, and 106 Boudreau. This is a very presentable medium- to lower-grade partial set of this classic gum-card issue. Total: 38 cards.
