Grading EX 60 by SGC. Beautiful 1889 N172 Old Judge rookie card of Hall of Famer Jake Beckley (pose #25-4). The offered card has solid contrast (a little light in some areas) and even corner wear. The blank reverse is clean. We have found Beckley to be particularly difficult to find among Hall of Famers in the Old Judge set. Beckley is baseball’s all-time leader in games played at first base. During his 20 major league seasons, he batted .300 or better 13 times, including six straight years (1899-1904). An outstanding N172 example of Beckley, of all the greater significance as it dates from Beckley's rookie era.
