Description

Extremely rare collection of ten different unperforated proof cards from the 1964 Topps "Stand-Ups" set, highlighted by Hall of Famers Al Kaline and Joe Torre. When these cards were issued, as their name implies, they were perforated in a way that the cards could be "punched out," allowing the cards to stand freely. The cards in this group are "proof" versions without perforations, neatly hand cut from sheets. Without further reference to the hand cuts, the condition is two Nr/Mt, five Ex-Mt, one Ex (encapsulated as Authentic by SGC), Vg-Ex, and one lesser (two faint marks on the reverse of Lee Thomas, otherwise Ex-Mt). This collection consists of the following: Boyer, Charles, Kaline (SGC Authentic due to hand cut, otherwise Ex), Maloney, Peters, Pinson, Floyd Robinson, Rollins, L. Thomas, and Torre (hand cut, otherwise Ex-Mt, HOF). This is an extremely rare collection of unperforated proof cards from this unusual and popular 1960s Topps issue. Total: 10 cards.
