Presented is a partial set of sixteen different (out of thirty in the set) 1931 Metropolitan Studio St. Louis Cardinals cards. Issued as promotional vehicles for Metropolitan Studio of St. Louis, each card measures approximately 6.25 x 9.5 inches and features popular Cardinals team members in a sepia-toned image. The collection is highlighted by five Hall of Famers, including Jim Bottomley and Frankie Frisch. The condition of this partial set is technically modest due to pencil marks on the reverse of each premium (except for two, noted below). The appearance of the premiums from the fronts ranges from Gd to Vg/Vg-Ex (averaging Vg). This collection consists of the following: Blades, Bottomley (HOF, pencil on reverse, otherwise Vg), Frisch (HOF, pencil on reverse, otherwise Vg), Gelbert, Grimes (HOF, pencil on reverse, otherwise Vg), Hafey (HOF, pencil on reverse, otherwise Vg+), Haines (HOF, pencil on reverse, otherwise Vg+), Hallahan, High, Johnson, Mancuso, Orsatti, Rhem (Vg+), Wares (Vg+), Watkins, and Wilson. This is a very attractive partial set of this scarce regional issue that is sure to be of great interest to St. Louis Cardinals collectors. Total: 16 premiums.
