Description

Extremely rare and desirable example of Philadelphia Athletics Hall of Famer Chief Bender from the PC760 Rose Postcard set, one of the rarest and most beautifully designed baseball-card sets ever produced. This is one of only two Rose Postcard Chief Bender examples graded by SGC (and none by PSA). It is fascinating to note that the portrait used on this card is the same one that appears on other Bender cards, including his 1909 T204 Ramly and 1909-1911 T206 White Border. This is obviously an iconic and very popular pose! The offered card displays a bold portrait, corner and edge wear, and a few unobtrusive creases. The reverse is not addressed or mailed but has light toning. Encapsulated as Authentic by SGC, the card has a filled-in tack hole at the top. This is a very presentable example from this beautiful and rare set and one that would make an outstanding addition to any PC760 set or Hall of Fame type-card collection.
