Graded VG 3 by PSA. Very attractive Ty Cobb (portrait, red background) card from the legendary T206 White Border set with a desirable Tolstoi advertising reverse. Cobb's red background portrait pose has long been considered one of the classics of the T206 set and of all vintage cards. The fact that this card features an unusual and scarce Tolstoi advertising reverse naturally makes this example of special note. T206Resource.com ranks Tolstoi as the 18th most difficult back to acquire out of 39 total backs available within the T206 White Border set. This well-centered example has a brilliant red background, excellent registration, and moderate corner wear. The important advertising reverse is boldly printed. A small crease below the top-right corner and a few surface scratches along the bottom right of Cobb's jersey contribute to the assigned grade. This is a strong example of this classic Ty Cobb card, which is one of the keys to the T206 set and one of the most popular of all prewar tobacco cards. It is in an ideal grade and has a scarce and desirable advertising back.
