Description

Graded VG/EX 4 by SGC. Extremely attractive example of 19th century star Jack Glasscock from the colorful N162 Goodwin Champions set. Glasscock is one of eight baseball players from this very popular 50-card set issued by Old Judge and Gypsy Queen Cigarettes. The set features champions and stars of the day from a wide variety of sports. Glasscock was a major star, and he was regarded as one of the premier shortstops in the major leagues throughout his 17-year career (1879-1895). He is widely regarded as a serious candidate for induction to the Baseball Hall of Fame. This example displays brilliant colors, a strong image, and light corner wear. Boldly printed checklist reverse. This is a stunning card from one of the most desirable and classic 19th century sets.
