Lot # 3257: 1997-1999 Fleer/Skybox "Star Trek - The Original Series" Seasons 1-3 Complete Master Set (853 Cards) Including 88 Signed Cards

Presented is an outstanding 1997-1999 Fleer/Skybox "Star Trek - The Original Series" master set consisting of all base cards, inserts and promo cards, highlighted by a complete 85-card set of autographed inserts (plus three variations). These were the first card sets issued since 1976 that featured exclusively the original Star Trek series (with the exception of some gaming card issues). Included are cards signed by most of the main cast of the show: two William Shatner (Captain Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (Spock), three James Doohan (Scotty), two George Takei (Sulu), two Nichelle Nichols (Uhura), and two Walter Koenig (Chekov). Also included are autographs of cast regulars, guest stars, writers, and noteworthy production crew, highlighted by Ricardo Montalban, Joan Collins, Teri Garr, Lee Meriwether, Frank Gorshin, and Diana Muldaur. Overall condition is 90% Nr/Mt-Mt to Mint and 10% lesser (mostly Ex-Mt to Nr/Mt). This master set consists of the following: 1) Season One (303): 90-card base set, 58-card "Behind the Scenes" insert set, 58-card "Character Log" insert set, 29-card "Profiles" insert set, 29-card "Gold Plaque" insert set, 12-card "Autograph Challenge" insert set (with voided "I" version), 26-card "Autographs" insert set, and promo card. 310, 304, 303. 2) Season Two (289) Plus 9 Variations and 6 Duplicates: 81-card base set, 52-card "Behind the Scenes" insert set, 52-card "Character Log" insert set, 26-card "Profiles" insert set, 26-card "Gold Plaque" insert set, 7-card "Mirror Mirror" insert set (stated print run of 200), 12-card "Autograph Challenge" insert set (with voided "V" version), 32-card "Autographs" insert set, and promo card (Ex). Includes eight blank back variations (all from "Profiles"), both first-name variations of #A38 Martel, and six duplicates (all from "Autograph Challenge"). 3) Season Three (261) Plus 2 Variations and 8 Duplicates: 75-card base set, 48-card "Behind the Scenes" insert set, 48-card "Character Log" insert set, 24-card "Profiles" insert set, 24-card "Gold Plaque" insert set, 13-card "Autograph Challenge" insert set (with voided "C" version), 27-card "Autographs" insert set, promo card, and "The Captain Series" Kirk insert (serial #947/1200). Includes both blue and black ink variations of #A72 and A74 plus eight duplicates (all from "Autograph Challenge"). This high-grade master set represents an extraordinary collecting achievement. The cards were issued in serial-numbered boxes, each containing 36 packs with nine cards per pack. Approximately 800 of each autographed card were issued in packs (at a rate of one per box), with three cards having an estimated print run of 400: #A1, A23, and A25. No more than 200 masters can ever be created, limited by the print run of the scarce Season Two "Mirror Mirror" insert set.
