Description

The 1969-1970 Bazooka "Baseball Extras" set offered a design very different from that of other Bazooka sets. Four small unnumbered vertical player cards of "All-Time Greats" were issued on the side panels of each box. The back of each box features a larger numbered "Baseball Extra" card with a newspaper-style picture and account of a historic baseball event. There are forty-eight (including thirty different) side-panel player cards and twelve different larger cards in the set. Offered is a very attractive complete subset of the twelve larger "Baseball Extras" cards. Condition ranges from Vg to Ex (averaging Vg-Ex). Keys: #5 Gehrig (Ex), 6 Johnson (Ex), 8 Cobb (Ex), 9 Ruth (Vg+), 10 Ruth (Vg), and 11 Ruth (Ex). Dimensions of each hand-cut panel: approx. 3 x 6-1/4 inches. Total: 12 cards.
