Description

Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA. Outstanding example of George Sisler's rookie card from the M101-4 Sporting News series. The 1916 M101-4 set is one of the most highly regarded and comprehensive baseball-card sets of the era. The set is commonly referred to as issued by The Sporting News, but as most collectors know, the set was actually issued by several different companies. Cards were printed with advertising for regional issuers as well as with blank backs. The offered example has a blank back. The M101-4 Sporting News set is recognized as one of the most significant of all prewar baseball-card issues. The offered card has excellent picture quality and light corner wear. The blank reverse is clean. A worthy addition to even the most advanced George Sisler, Hall of Famer, or type-card collection!
