Lot # 2334: George Burke Hall of Fame Signed Photograph Collection (10) Including Stan Musial, Pee Wee Reese, and Warren Spahn

Collection of ten original George Burke photos, each signed on the front by the respective Hall of Famer pictured. The signatures are scripted in blue ink. All but two of the photos (5 x 7 inches) have a blank reverse; the other two display the player's last name written on the reverse. This collection consists of the following: Dickey, Feller, Gomez, Hubbell, Mize, Musial, Reese, Roberts, Slaughter, and Spahn. Very Good to Excellent condition overall. George Burke, who resided in Chicago, is one of the most famous baseball photographers of the twentieth century. He was a frequent figure at both Comiskey Park and Wrigley field from 1929 through 1951, and during that span he photographed nearly every player in either league at one time or another. While Burke photos are widely collected, signed examples, especially those of Hall of Fame players, are especially highly prized by collectors.
