Lot # 972: 1952 Bowman Near-Complete Set (249/252) Including Mantle and Mays

Presented is a near-complete set of one of the great classic Bowman issues from the 1950s, the “golden years” of baseball cards consisting of 249 different cards, out of 252 in the set. Missing just three cards for completion (#124, 196 Musial, and 235). Includes the following thirty-three duplicates: #2 Thomson, 29, 33 McDougald RC, 49, 61, 86, 89, 91, 92, 99, 100, 102, 103, two 107, 108, 109, 122, 123, 125, three 137, 140, 170, 182, 186, 198, 203, 207, 219, 226, and 234. This near set is highlighted by twenty-six Hall of Famers, including Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays. Condition is 31% Vg-Ex to Ex (including four better), 56% Gd to Vg, and 13% lesser (including a couple that measure a bit small and one with a slight trim). Four cards have been professionally graded and encapsulated by SGC (2, submitted by REA), PSA (1), and BVG (1).
