Presented is an attractive medium- to lower-grade near-complete set of W462 Salutation Exhibits consisting of sixty-two different cards out of the eighty-three cards in the set as checklisted in The Standard Catalog. These unnumbered cards are not dated and were issued over a series of years, so they are generally collected as a single set. Some cards in this Exhibit-card series were issued for numerous years, while other players were issued for only a short period of time, creating many rarities. Because they have the player's signature and a "salutation" scripted at the bottom, they are often referred to as "Salutation Exhibits." The rarities make the assembly of a complete set one of the most difficult of all Exhibit-card sets. Condition is 22% Vg-Ex to Ex, 45% Gd to Vg, and 33% Pr to Fr. Keys: Dean (partially erased pencil on reverse, otherwise Vg), Dickey/U.S.A. left (Vg), Dickey/U.S.A. right (small marks on front, otherwise Vg-Ex+), DiMaggio (Vg+), Feller/pitching (Vg), Foxx (partially erased pencil on front, otherwise Gd), Gehringer (Pr), Greenberg/Very truly yours (Vg), Greenberg/ truly yours (small pencil marks on front, otherwise Vg+), Hubbell (Vg), Mize/U.S.A. left (Pr), Mize/U.S.A. right (Vg-Ex), Newhouser (Vg), Ott/U.S.A. left (Pr due to back damage), Ott/U.S.A. right (Pr-Fr due to back damage), Vaughn (Vg-Ex+), and Williams/#9 not showing (Vg-Ex).
