Presented is a substantial collection of 236 assorted Exhibits cards from two different series, spanning the years 1939 to 1966 and highlighted by forty-four Hall of Famers, including Hank Aaron, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, and Ted Williams. Exhibits cards were traditionally sold for one penny each from vending machines placed at arcades and amusement parks for more than four decades (from 1921 to the 1960s). This collection consists of the following: 1) 1939-1946 W462 Salutation Exhibits (25): Condition is 60% Vg to Vg-Ex (including two better) and 40% lesser (including some due to pencil on the reverse). Includes: Barrett, Boudreau (Vg-Ex), Cavarretta, Clift, DiMaggio (Vg-Ex+), Elliott, Feller/pitching (Ex-Mt), Gordon/Cleveland (small pencil marks on reverse, otherwise Vg), Hassett, Heath/small, Holmes/yours truly, Hubbell (Vg+), Keltner, Kuhel, Marion/an exhibit card, McCormick/USA left (Vg-Ex+), Mize/USA left (pencil on reverse, otherwise Vg+), Mize/USA right (Vg-Ex), Ott/USA left (Ex), Pafko/"C" on cap, Pollet/USA right, Walker/"D" on cap, Warneke, Williams/#9 not showing (Pr-Fr due to tack hole), and York. 2) 1947-1966 Exhibits (211): Condition is 37% Ex to Ex-Mt (including a couple Nr/Mt), 51% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 14% lesser (mostly due to pencil on the reverse). Keys: Aaron (Vg), Appling/"An Exhibit Card" (Vg-Ex+), Banks/black signature (Ex-Mt), Banks/white signature (pencil mark on reverse, otherwise Vg+), Campanella (Vg-Ex+), Doby (Vg), Drysdale/glove at waist (Ex), Drysdale/portrait (Ex), Ford/pitching (Fr-Gd), Fox (Pr), Kaline/kneeling (pencil mark on reverse, otherwise Vg+), Kaline/portrait, with two bats (small mark on reverse, otherwise Vg-Ex), Killibrew (Ex), Mantle/batting full length (Ex), Mantle/batting waist-up "ck" connected (Vg-Ex+), Matthews (Ex), Mays (Vg-Ex), Musial/kneeling, "Printed in U.S.A." (Ex), Newhouser (Vg), Reese/ball not visible (Vg-Ex+), Rizzuto (Ex-Mt), B. Robinson (Ex), J. Robinson (Vg-Ex), Schoendienst/fielding, name in red-brown (Vg+), Snider/"B" on cap (Vg-Ex+), and Spahn/"B" on cap (Vg). In our opinion, Exhibits cards in general represent a particularly outstanding collecting value. This is a very attractive and mostly mid-grade collection with great eye-appeal and a strong "break value" if desired because of the high concentration of Hall of Famers. Total: 236 cards.
