Presented is an impressive near-complete set of 333 different cards (out of the 340 in the set as checklisted in The Standard Catalog) from the 1947-1966 Exhibit Supply Company set. Missing the following seven cards for completion: Ford/portrait, Mantle/portrait, Richardson, Schoendienst/fielding name in white, "Moose" Skowron, '56 Dodgers, and '56 Yankees. This near set is highlighted by six signed cards and eighty-four Hall of Famers, including Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, Satchel Paige, Jackie Robinson, and many more! Also included are eleven rare variations with postcard backs (all duplicates). These unnumbered cards are not dated and were issued over a series of years, so they are generally collected as a single set. Some cards in this Exhibit card series were issued for numerous years, while other players were issued for only a short period of time, thus creating many rarities. Condition is 25% Ex to Ex-Mt (including a few Nr/Mt), 54% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 21% lesser. The cards in this collection exhibit factory-cut edges, with approximately 15% measuring smaller than standard dimensions, a common characteristic of this series. Keys: Aaron (Fr), Richie Ashburn/Phillies, Ritchie Ashburn, Richie Ashburn/Cubs, Banks/black sig. (Vg-Ex+), Banks/white sig. (Vg-Ex), Banks/portrait (Vg-Ex+), "Yogi" Berra (Gd), Berra/Made in USA (Vg), Berra/Printed in USA (Vg-Ex+), Campanella, Chandler (Gd+), Clemente (Gd), M. Robinson (partially erased pencil on reverse, otherwise Vg), Skowron (signed, Ex), Slaughter (signed, Vg-Ex), Snider/"B" on cap (Ex+), Snider/"LA" on cap (Ex), Spahn/"B" on cap , Spahn/"M" on cap, Ward (Vg-Ex), Yastrzemski (Pr due to paper loss on the reverse), and '55 Dodgers (PSA VG 3). Eleven postcard backs: Banks/white sig. A very attractive, mostly mid-grade near-complete set of one of the most important and longest-running series of cards to ever be produced. Total: 344 cards (near set of 333 plus 11 variations). Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA (for the six signed cards).
