Lot # 1302: 1959 Bazooka Mickey Mantle - SGC

Very desirable example of key Hall of Famer Mickey Mantle from the 1959 Bazooka set. This was Bazooka's first baseball-card set. The 1959 Bazooka set has always been revered as one of the rarest and most difficult to collect of all Topps-related sets. Issued just one card per box of Topps Bazooka-brand bubble gum, the cards were intended to be hand cut by youngsters from the bottom of Bazooka boxes. The card has vibrant colors, a crisp image of Mantle, and moderate creasing. The blank reverse displays a few spots of discoloration. Encapsulated as Authentic by SGC due to a slightly irregular hand cut. An appealing example of Mickey Mantle, the key card to the set, from this popular food issue.
