1936 R312 National Chicle Premiums Mickey Cochrane, inscribed by Cochrane on the front. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the piece and graded the signature MINT 9. One of only two examples of this particular signed premium listed in the PSA/DNA Population Report. Cochrane has inscribed the premium "Good Luck/Mickey Cochrane/Lieut USNR/Great Lakes NTS" in black fountain pen. This full-color (4 x 5.375 inches) premium set is composed of twenty-five individual player portraits, fourteen multiplayer cards, and eleven in-action photos. The beautiful, rich pastel colors of R312 premiums make them one of the most striking and distinctive of all 1930s issues. Considering how substantial they are, R312 premiums have received very little attention from collectors, in part due to the fact that they are larger than standard cards, and therefore have only recently begun to be encapsulated by grading services, and the fact that they are blank-backed with no identification of the issuer. The premium, which is hand cut on all four sides, displays the year "1938" written along the base, heavy creasing, and evidence of album removal on the reverse. In Poor condition.
