1939 Baseball Centennial first-day cover signed in black fountain pen by Tris Speaker. PSA/DNA has encapsulated the envelope and graded the signature MINT 9. The envelope bears a "Jun 12, 1939, Cooperstown N.Y." postmark and three-cent Baseball Centennial stamp. Speaker was one of the 11 living players inducted into the Hall of Fame at the 1939 dedication ceremonies, and his signature on any 1939 first-day cover, especially a high-grade example such as this, is highly prized by collectors today. The envelope (6.5 x 3.5 inches) has a typed address and is in Excellent condition overall.
