Lot # 1614: 1970 Topps Complete Set (720)

Very attractive complete 1970 Topps set. At 720 cards, the 1970 Topps set was the largest set of Topps cards issued to that date. Includes both variations of checklists #432 and 588. Condition is 19% Nr/Mt to Nr/Mt-Mt, 65% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 16% Vg to Vg-Ex (mostly Vg-Ex and including a couple with a slight miscut and a few that are factory cut considerably small). We have selected six cards for grading and encapsulation by SGC. Keys: #1 Mets Team (Vg-Ex), 10 Yastrzemski (Ex-Mt), 140 Jackson (NM 7), 150 Killebrew (Ex), 189 Munson RC (NM 7), 290 Carew (Vg-Ex), 300 Seaver (Vg), 350 Clemente (15/85 L/R, otherwise Ex-Mt), 449 Palmer (Ex), 462 Aaron AS (95/5 T/B and 85/15 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt), 500 Aaron (75/25 L/R, otherwise Nr/Mt), 530 Gibson (Ex due to centering), 580 Rose (NM/MT 8), 600 Mays (NM 7), 630 Banks (Ex-Mt+), 640 Kaline (Ex+), 660 Bench (NM/MT 8), 700 F. Robinson (Vg-Ex), and 712 Ryan (EX/NM 6). Dating from when sets could not be purchased all at once, and had to be assembled by series as they were released throughout the season, this 1970 Topps set is starting to have some real age to it (50 years and counting!) and includes a countless array of stars and Hall of Famers.
