Presented is a near-complete set of 1954 Topps baseball consisting of 247 different cards (out of 250 in the set), missing only #90 Mays, 128 Aaron, and 201 Kaline for completion. The 1954 Topps set has always been one of the most popular sets of the 1950s. This near set features the rookie cards of Ernie Banks and Tommy Lasorda along with many other Hall of Famers and stars, including two examples of Ted Williams (first and last cards in the set), all in brilliant color. Condition is 31% Ex to Ex-Mt (including 3% better), 58% Vg to Vg-Ex, and 11% lesser. Thirty-four cards have been professionally graded and encapsulated by PSA (19) and SGC (15). Keys: #1 Williams (EX 5), 3 Irvin (Vg), 10 Robinson (Pr), 13 Martin (EX-MT 6), 17 Rizzuto (Vg), 20 Spahn (Vg), 30 Mathews (Ex), 32 Snider (SGC EX 5), 36 Wilhelm (Vg), 37 Ford (Pr-Fr), 45 Ashburn (SGC VG/EX+ 4.5), 50 Berra (10/90 T/B, otherwise Vg-Ex+), 70 Doby (SGC VG/EX 50), 94 Banks RC (SGC FAIR 1.5), 102 Hodges (EX 5), 132 Lasorda RC (SGC VG 3), 239 Skowron RC (SGC VG 3), and 250 Williams (EX 5). Twenty-four additional PSA-Graded cards: #35 Gilliam (EX-MT 6), 54 (EX-MT+ 6.5), 59 (SGC NM 84), 72 (SGC EX/NM 80), 76 (EX 5), 96 (EX-MT 6 [OC]), 98 (SGC NM 84), 103 (SGC VG/EX 4), 105 (EX+ 5.5), 127 (SGC EX+ 70), 130 Bauer (SGC VG/EX+ 4.5), 139 O'Brien Brothers (EX 5), 147 (NM-MT 8), 149 (EX-MT 6), 164 (NM-MT 8), 177 (NM 7), 191 (SGC NM+ 86), 195 (EX 5), 221 (NM 7), 235 (SGC VG+ 3.5), 240 (EX 5), 241 (SGC EX+ 70), 242 (EX-MT 6), and 249 (EX-MT 6). This is a very attractive, mostly mid-grade near-complete set of this 1950s classic. The equivalent SMR value for just thirty-three of the graded cards (not including the PSA-qualified card and factoring in the eight half grades below NM 7 at the lower whole-grade level) is $3,220. Total: 247 cards.
