Lot # 2167: Joe McGinnity, Christy Mathewson, and John McGraw Cut Signature Trio in Framed Display - JSA

Extremely impressive wall display featuring cut signatures of three scarce and elusive New York Giants Hall of Famers: Joe McGinnity, Christy Mathewson, and John McGraw. Each signature is boldly rendered in black fountain pen. The cuts have been matted and framed together with a 19 x 12 inch (visible dimensions) team photo (modern print) of the 1904 National League Champion New York Giants. Mathewson and McGinnity were the team's star pitchers while McGraw served as manager. As most collectors know, each of these signatures is very rare because of the players' early deaths (each had died by 1934). This extremely substantial and highly decorative wall piece presents in extraordinary Near Mint condition and features a trio of extremely scarce and desirable signatures. The primary components, of course, have tremendous value individually but framed together make for a museum-caliber display. Matted and framed to total dimensions of 28 x 25 inches.
