Presented is an extremely rare 1968 Topps 3-D wax wrapper, one of the most elusive treasures of all 1960s Topps wrapper collecting. In the world of baseball-card collecting, many serious collectors revere the 1968 Topps 3-D set more than any other set of its era. Whether these cards were issued in stores remains a mystery, but legend has always had it that, as a test, a few boxes appeared in selected stores in Brooklyn, N.Y. To the best of our knowledge, however, most 1968 Topps 3-D cards can ultimately be traced back to someone who worked at Topps or Xograph, the company that produced them for Topps. The wrapper measures approximately 5-3/4 x 5-1/4 inches and presents extremely well with normal fold lines and wrinkling of the fragile paper. There is a small tear along the right edge. This is an extraordinarily rare wrapper from one of the most fascinating and distinctive of all sets from the 1960s and would be a tremendous companion piece to any 1968 Topps 3-D complete set or a worthy addition to any world-class wrapper collection.
