Description

Extremely rare E101 "Set of 50" candy card featuring legendary Pittsburgh Pirates Hall of Famer Honus Wagner in a batting pose. The manufacturer of E101 is unknown. The batting pose of Wagner on this card is identical to that found in several rare sets of the era, including T216 Kotton Tobacco and E102 "Set of 25." The back simply reads "This card is one of a set of 50 Base Ball Players - Prominent Members of National and American Leagues." In 1909, Wagner led the league in every major batting category including batting average, on-base percentage, total bases, and RBI. Graded POOR 1 by SGC, this example features vibrant colors and a crisp image of Wagner. Boldly printed reverse. Downgraded largely due to a heavy creases and rounded corners. Despite these condition flaws, this is a very appealing example of one of Honus Wagner's most classic cards, issued at the peak of his career.
