Graded VG 3 by PSA. Mid-grade example of this significant condition rarity that is also one of Joe DiMaggio’s most popular cards. Considering the fragile cardboard used in the production of the 1948-1949 Leaf issue and the excessive wear the No. 1 card is subjected to, the visual appeal of this card is all the more impressive. This is also DiMaggio's only postwar bubble-gum card issued during his playing days (he did not allow cards of himself to be printed by Topps or Bowman), giving it even greater significance. The offered example has brilliant colors, excellent registration, and honest corner wear. Downgraded largely due to light creasing and toning on the front.
