Lot # 1067: 1948-1949 Leaf SGC- and PSA-Graded Near-Complete Standard Set (41/49) Including Mize, Wagner, Doerr, and Kiner

Presented is an extremely attractive collection of 41 different cards (of 49) from the 1948-1949 Leaf Gum “standard” set, highlighted by seven Hall of Famers including Honus Wagner (a favorite with collectors as he is pictured with chewing tobacco). With reference to the 49 cards comprising the standard set, the following eight cards are missing for completion: #1 DiMaggio, 3 Ruth, 4 Musial, 14, 32 Spahn, 76 Williams, 79 Robinson, and 106 Boudreau. 1948-1949 Leafs are without question one of the most difficult postwar sets to complete because of all the rare cards. All 41 cards have been professionally graded and encapsulated by SGC (36) and PSA (5). Keys: #11 Rizzuto (VG/EX+ 4.5), 38 Kluszewski RC (VG/EX 4), 46 Mize (PSA GOOD 2), 59 Appling (VG 3), 70 Wagner (PSA POOR 1), 83 Doerr (PSA VG-EX 4), 91 Kiner RC (GOOD+ 2.5), and 117 Gordon (FAIR 1.5).
