Description

Presented is a rarely offered near-complete set of R20 "Battleship Gum" consisting of forty-six different cards, out of 50 in the set. Issued by the Newport Products Co. of Rhode Island in the 1930s, each card in this set features a magnificent full-color illustration of a U.S. Navy warship. A brief description of the ship is printed on the back of the card. Condition is 33% Vg-Ex to Ex (including a couple Ex-Mt), 54% Gd to Vg, and 13% Pr to Fr. Key: #48 (SGC EX/NM 80). Missing the following four cards for completion: #4, 34, 40, and 46. This is a rarely offered near-complete set of this extremely attractive and popular 1930s nonsport card issue. Total: 46 cards.
