Presented is an extremely scarce complete set of "Jiggleys" cards. Produced by the New York-based Model Airplane Company in 1950, this sixty-card set is composed of two different series: Cards #1-30 feature circus and western subjects, and cards #31-60 have a military theme. Each card features a colorful illustration of the subject on the front with diecut figures that can be detached. The reverses of the cards have a brief summary of the subject matter. Condition of the Circus and Western series (#1-30) is 10% Nr/Mt, 53% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 37% Vg to Vg-Ex (including some with 100/0 centering). Most of the cards in the Military series (#31-60) show some rusting to the original staples that has caused a very minor amount of discoloration to the affected areas of the cards. Without further reference to this mostly minor flaw, the condition of the Military series is 40% Nr/Mt, 33% Ex to Ex-Mt, and 27% Vg to Vg-Ex (including a few with 100/0 centering). An original wrapper from each series is also included (Circus and Western wrapper grades Vg+ and Military wrapper grades Gd). This is a rarely offered complete set of this scarce 1950s nonsport issue and one that would be a welcome addition to even the most advanced collection. Total: 60 cards plus two wrappers. The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
