Original unopened rack pack from the 1971 Topps baseball first-series with #100 Pete Rose showing on top. The pack houses 54 cards as well as an additional card that has been inserted in the header position and punched at the top to allow for hanging at retailers. This series is highlighted by Hall of Famers Reggie Jackson, Jim Hunter, Bert Blyleven (rookie), Willie McCovey, Ted Simmons (rookie), and Steve Carlton, as well as New York Yankees legendary star Thurman Munson. Any unopened material from 1971 Topps is extremely rare and, in our experience, it becomes available less than any other 1970s set. 1971 Topps are especially condition-sensitive, as the black flush-to-the-border design of the set makes them particularly susceptible to corner and edge wear. This pack comes shrink-wrapped by Baseball Card Exchange (Steve Hart), the foremost expert on unopened material. The pack displays well overall, with minor toning and normal crimping along the plastic edges. This is a superb original unopened rack pack from one of the most popular and condition-sensitive of all 1970s Topps issues. It would be a worthy addition to even the most advanced collection of 1971 Topps or unopened material.
