Collection of ten different 1952 Star-Cal Decals (Type 2). Four Hall of Famers appear on the two-player decals, including Duke Snider, George Kell, and Bob Lemon. The Meyercord Co. of Chicago issued two sets in 1952, the Type 1 Star-Cal set consisted of sixty-eight different major leaguers each pictured on a large decal (4-1/8 x 6-1/8 inches) with facsimile autographs below the images. The Type 2 set is similar in design to the Type 1 but slightly smaller (4-1/8 x 3-1/16 inches) and consists of thirty-two decals, with each sheet featuring two players instead of one. All the decals in this lot are removed from their original packaging envelopes as issued. Each decal is graded and encapsulated by PSA, and each is the only example graded at its respective level with none higher. This collection consists of the following: #84-A Reynolds/Raschi (FAIR 1.5), 86-A Kell/Newhouser (HOF, POOR 1), 86-C Groth/Hutchinson (GOOD 2), 87-A E. Robinson (VG 3), 88-A Lemon/Hegan (HOF, GOOD 2), 89-A Garver (VG 3), 90-C Dark/Thomson (GOOD 2), 91-C Roe/Snider (HOF, VG-EX 4), 92-A Cavarretta/Leonard (FAIR 1.5), and 93-C Chambers/Westlake (VG-EX 4). This is a very pleasing collection of this popular and unusual early 1950s issue. Total: 10 Star-Cal Decals.
