Presented is a collection of 149 cards from the 1926 W512 and 1928 W513 multi-sport (and nonsport) strip-card issues, highlighted by 29 Baseball Hall of Famers, including Tris Speaker, Grover Alexander, Bill Terry, Paul Waner, and Tony Lazzeri. Also included are many notable boxers and actors, including Gene Tunney, Jack Dempsey, and Charlie Chaplin. Some of these cards are nicely cut, but most display jagged or tapering cuts, with many cut well inside the lines. Professional grading companies employ different standards for hand-cut cards, with respect to size and neatness of cut, so the listed grades are without reference to any cutting issues (it is likely that many of these cards would be graded only "Authentic" if submitted). This collection consists of the following: 1) 1926 W512 (25 cards, 18 different): Condition ranges from Pr to Vg (averaging Fr-Gd). Includes: Two #1 Bancroft (Vg and Gd), 2 Alexander (cut small, otherwise Vg), 4 Speaker (Fr), 5, two 11, two 12, 15, two 21 Mix, 23, two 24 Chaplin, 31, 32, 33, two 34, 41 Dempsey (Fr), 42, two 43, and 44 Tunney/Light Heavyweight Champ. 2) 1928 W513 (124 cards, 27 different): Condition is 19% Vg-Ex to Ex and 81% ranging from Pr to Vg (averaging Fr-Gd and including some that are cut very small). Includes: #52, four 56, 57, four 58, four 59, five 60, five 66, five 67 Terry (Ex, Vg, Gd, Fr, and Pr), four 68 Pennock, two 69, three 70 P. Waner (two Fr and Pr), five 76, two 77, four 78 Haines, four 79 Lazzeri (Ex, two Vg+, and Fr), three 80, 81, five 86 Coombs, four 87 Sharkey, six 88, four 89, two 90, three 96, two 97, four 98, four 99, and three 100. These classic 1920s strip-card issues represent a particularly outstanding value in comparison to other card sets of the era. Total: 149 cards.
