Description

Offered is a rare and very interesting collection of 87 photographs featuring players from teams of the American League, all used in the production of the 1963 Post Cereal and Jell-O baseball cards. These photos were used as components of the art boards that were created during the production process. Each color-photo measures approximately 4 x 4.75 inches and has the player's name and team affiliation written on either the front or back. This collection consists of photographs from the following American League teams: Baltimore Orioles (9, including Powell, B. Robinson and Wilhelm), Boston Red Sox (8), Chicago White Sox (12, including Aparicio, Fox, and Wynn), Cleveland Indians (9), Detroit Tigers (10, including Bunning, Colavito, and Kaline), Kansas City Athletics (8), Los Angeles Angels (11), Minnesota Twins (12, including Kaat and two poses of Killebrew), and Washington Senators (8). The photos remain in Very Good to Excellent condition overall. This is an outstanding and unique collection that offers great insight into the production process for Post Cereal and Jell-O cards. It would be a significant addition to any original card-artwork or card-production collection. Total: 87 photos.
