Presented is a very attractive collection of eleven different nineteenth-century baseball-themed trade cards, representing three different classic series. These cards were designed to allow merchants to overprint their own ads on the front or blank backs, for use as an advertising vehicle. This collection consists of the following: 1) H804-1 "Baby Talk Series" Near-Complete Set (6/9): "Fee Stykes, out" (Vg-Ex+), "I'se a doe'n home" (Ex+), "Oh, I dot it" (Vg+), "Oh, I'se all'ite" (partially erased pencil on reverse, otherwise Vg-Ex), "Tan 'oo' Tetch" (Vg-Ex), and "Wow-ow" (Vg+). 2) H804-10 "Corner Clefs" Partial Set (4/8): A Short-Stop (partially erased pencil on reverse, otherwise Gd+), A Twister (Gd+), Hold Your Base (Gd+), and Our Side Has Won (Fr). All cards display advertising for Kelsey & Flint Druggists on the reverses. 3) H804-4 "Capadura Cigar Series" (1 card): "Two Men out..." (Vg). Total: 11 cards.
