Partial set of 39 different cards (out of 64 in the set) from the classic 1927 Exhibits series, highlighted by 11 Hall of Famers, including Eddie Collins, George Sisler, and Tris Speaker. The 1927 Exhibits (3-3/8 x 5-3/8 inches) are easily identified by their light green tint. Condition is Pr to Fr overall (with one Vg+), with all except one displaying a pencil notation on the reverse and 25 showing pinholes. The grouping still offers strong visual appeal, in most cases far better than suggested by their technical grades. Keys: Bottomley (Pr), Collins (Pr), Cuyler (pencil on reverse, otherwise Vg), Goslin (Pr), Hartnett (Pr), Heilmann (pencil on reverse, otherwise Vg+), Lazzeri (Pr), Schalk (Pr), Sisler (Pr,misspelled "Sissler"), Southworth (Pr), and Speaker (Pr). Missing the following 25 cards for completion: Alexander, Bancroft, Blankenship, Burns, Cobb, Daus, Gehrig, Gehringer, Grimes, Haney, Harper, Hornsby, Johnson, Lindstrom, Neis, Pipp, Rixey, Ruel, Ruth, Taylor, Traynor, Wambsganns, Wheat, K. Williams, and Wrightsone. Exhibits are extremely substantial, far rarer than many other cards from the era, and represent an extraordinary collecting value for quality cards from the 1920s. Total: 39 cards.
