Description

Presented is a collection of thirteen 1909-1913 M101-2 Sporting News Supplements highlighted by Frank Chance and Ed Walsh. This sepia-toned premium set was issued with the Sporting News between the years 1909 and 1913. Each premium was issued on only a single day and is dated in the upper right or left. Their method of issue and thin paper stock on which they are printed make these unusual and striking premiums particularly susceptible to damage. All have various condition problems (small tears, chips, creases, stains, tack holes, tape, etc.) and grade Poor. This collection consists of the following: 1909 (3): Chance (HOF), Rucker, and Walsh (HOF). 1910 (1): 1910 Chicago Team - Champions of NL. 1912 (5): Herzog, Lavender, Ritchie, Stahl, and C. Wagner. 1913 (4): Birmingham, Daubert, Somers, and Zimmerman. Total: 13 supplements.
