Description

Official National League/International League baseball signed in black fountain pen by both Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. Graded NM+ 7.5 by PSA/DNA, the Ruth and Gehrig signatures are both deemed NM 7. A ball grade of '7,' plus a half point for eye appeal, results in the overall NM+ 7.5 assessment by PSA. The ball, which features "Official National League" and "Official International League" stamping on each sweet spot, bears the stamped facsimile signature of International League president Charles Knapp on a side panel. Knapp was president of the International League from 1929 to 1936, which most likely indicates that the ball was signed by Ruth and Gehrig during their time together with the New York Yankees. (Ruth's final season with the Yankees was in 1934.) The ball displays light soiling and is in overall Excellent condition, with all of the manufacturer's stampings remaining bold and bright.
