Description

Cut signature of Hall of Fame shortstop Joe Tinker. Tinker's signature has been scripted in black ink upon a small piece of unlined white paper. Beneath his signature, Tinker has added the inscriptions "Short Stop Cubs" and "From 1902 to 1916." Tinker was part of the Chicago Cubs' legendary double-play combination of Tinker to Evers to Chance during the early 1900s, but he wasn't elected to the Hall of Fame until 1946, which was 30 years after he retired. Tinker died in 1948, which gave Hall of Fame autograph collectors only a two-year window in which to obtain his signature. As a result, Tinker's signature remains scarce today. The cut (2-1/8 x 4-1/8 inches) is in Excellent condition overall.
